Manchester City are likely to keep Carlos Tevez at the Eastlands after Corinthians, who had previously announced and confirmed the interest for the Argentine, have announced that they are no longer interested in the 27-year-old’s services. The news shocked through its unpredictability as the Argentine is to wait perhaps six more months to join his family in South America. Tevez is keen to part with Roberto Mancini’s side after two successful years, but the player’s move is now blocked because of the Brazilians’ withdraw. The striker was very close to a move to his former side, but it is today that City will have to find another club interested in his services.

“While acknowledging the efforts of Manchester City and all involved in the negotiations, there isn’t more available time for the transfer to be achieved, given that the transfer window to players from abroad closes on Wednesday, July 20,” said the Brazilian club in a statement. The Brazilians broad assured the fans they will be still looking forward to Argentine’s return, but couldn’t mention a term. Mancini might now not consider a striker transfer on the Eastlands as Tevez has plenty of chances to stay in England at least for a couple of months. Although neither of the two clubs revealed the reason for which the Brazilians pulled out of the transfer, it has been reported that shorter payment terms couldn’t be agreed. It has also been rumored that the English side asked for a 35 million pound advance, money the Brazilians couldn’t afford.
Tevez finished the season as top scorer with 20 goals, the same as United’s Dimitar Berbatov. He also helped City to win the FA Cup trophy and finish the season third in the standings, position which secures them a UEFA Champions League group stage presence. The Argentine has scored 43 goals and gathered 63 selections with the Italian manager’s side which he wants to split with this summer. Tevez cited family reasons for his desire, and City’s answer seemed to have been favorable. Unfortunately for him, the club is to find another South American buyer, though neither other club looks interested in his services.
City ask at least 30 million pounds for the striker, something which might block his move from Manchester this summer. City have already spent tens of million on former Arsenal defender Gael Clichy and Stefan Savic of Serbians Partizan Belgrade, who were given a four-year contract, each. Emmanuel Adebayor is still on the departing list in Manchester with Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur among the main candidates for the Togolese who spent six months with the Spaniards for which he scored eight goals. The 27-year-old is desperate to stay on Santiago Bernabeu but the Spaniards haven’t made any clear offer yet.
Apart from this, Sergio Aguero is among Roberto Mancini’s wishlist. The 23-year-old Atletico Madrid playmaker impressed with 20 goals this past season, something which attracted Juventus and Real Madrid’s interests, as well. According to his agent, the player is likely to join the Italians as switch across the street is impossible due to the big rivalry between Real and the Calderon side.
This might be an iitmation pair and not the genuine one, which costs much more.
