The meeting between St. Pauli and Schalke 04 was halted on Friday night after a bottle of beer hit one of the assistance. The incident came with two minutes left with Schalke leading 2-0. It’s been a very tense match both on the pitch and off it. After Raul opened the score in the first half and Draxler made it 2-0 within the second one, the fans started to throw with objects towards the pitch and the linesman due to the frustration accumulated throughout the entire game.

Hosts’ coach Holger Stanislawaski declared at the end of the game that such ‘scenes are unacceptable. These things should not happen in stadiums.’ He would also apologize to the linesman in the name of the club and the fans. Regarding the tense from the pitch, given the fact that St. Pauli are struggling bottom the Bundesliga table to get rid of the relegation zone, brought defenders Kalla and Bartles one red card each for crazy interventions on Schalke’s midfielder Farfan. St. Pauli defender Thorandt was also cautioned by the referee for his sins.

St. Pauli have VfL Wolfsburg just one point behind them, so they could get into big trouble especially if Felix Magath’s new side get back to the winning days.
Stanilasawski’s squad are now following four disastrous results. Eintracht Frankfurt beat them 2-1 lat week, while VfB Stutgart edged them 2-1 on the Day 26. Finally, FC Nurnberg humiliated the Millerntor side 5-0 last month on Day 25. St. Pauli will next play second Bayer Leverkusen who are still fighting for the first position in Bundesliga. Leverkusen won all the last three matches and sit seven points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund and five above third Hannover 96.
On the other side, Schalke, who are currently trained by Ralf Rangnick, are tenth in the German league with 33 points won in 27 games. Felix Magath’s former side are also qualified in the UEFA Champions League quarter finals, an unique performances that is due to the same Magath. Schalke will next play VfL Wolfsburg, next Saturday, in what will be a very interesting clash between Magath’s former and new clubs.

Draxler were Schalke substitutions.
